Back in 1995, the newly-organized El Cajon Community Development Corporation (then known as Downtown El Cajon, Inc.) was looking for a novel way to create a sense of place, to build community identity, and to bring shoppers and residents back into Downtown El Cajon. With a limited budget, they hit upon the idea of staging free, live performances on the central Prescott Promenade during the Friday lunch hour. The occasional performances started small, attracting some 25 or so people each Friday noon during the few summer weeks the programs were offered.

From 1876 through 1900, the average American family regarded the Fourth of July as far more important than Christmas or any other holiday.
For “the Fourth,” communities in what was still frontier country had two-and-three day celebrations in memory of Revolutionary and Civil War dead. Each village or town hosted horse racing (in El Cajon, only demands for a safer venue stopped traditional racing on Main Street), community and family picnics and highly competitive inter-city-town-reservation baseball games.

There is an average of more than 100 million coffee-drinking Americans in the United States and each one of those people has their own ways of making their daily morning cup unique. To make it tasty, many people put a smidge of cinnamon, dab of creamer, or sprinkle of sugar, whether it is non-fat or no calorie. However, that seems to be one of the main causes of obesity in the United States. It is said that ironically, many no-calorie sweeteners will
make you gain weight.
Experts say that the sweet taste of sugar or added calories are what a
human craves and without it, the human body wants more.
